Prior to the participation of the Parliamentary delegation in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly Al-Khuzaie: The dialogue and cooperation between Asian countries is a strategic requirement to promote peace, security and prosperity in the countries of the continent
Dr. Mohammed Al-Khuzaie, head of the Parliamentary delegation participating in the meeting of the Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, stressed that dialogue and cooperation among Asian countries is a strategic and fundamental requirement to promote peace, security and prosperity in the countries of the continent. He also stressed on the importance of building strong relations with the Asian countries within the framework of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision to communicate with the countries of the world in various international forums, given the trading and economic importance of Asian countries to Bahrain.
Al-Khuzaie stated in a statement before the departure of the delegation to participate in the meeting scheduled for 26-27 June in Cyprus, that the members of the Parliamentary delegation will spare no effort to contribute effectively to Asian efforts to achieve sustainable development. It is expected that the delegation would contribute to the drafting of some of the resolutions to be submitted by the Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development to the next Asian Parliamentary Assembly meeting.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting comes at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Demetris Syllouris, President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus, where the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Rapporteur of the Committee are to be elected at the Committee’s meeting, in addition to presenting and discussing draft resolutions on the role of member parliaments in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in supporting and executing sustainable development goals, poverty eradication, the availability of water and sanitation facilities in Asia for all, the integrated energy market in Asia, as well as a draft resolution on environmental issues, and a discussion of a decision regarding financial matters on ensuring economic growth.
In this context, Dr. Khuzaie pointed out that coordination and consultation among Asian countries will enhance their efforts and push them towards creating an effective framework of regional cooperation that will promote the integration and political, economic and cultural partnership that the region is rich in. wishing that the next phase will bring more Asian interaction, thus bringing more benefit to the people of the region.
Al-Khuzaie and members of the parliamentary delegation stressed on the importance of the parliamentary contribution to the promotion of world peace by calling at all international forums to establish international peace and security by adopting initiatives that contribute to resolving conflicts and spreading peace in the world, reaching the achievement of the sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations. In addition to supporting all efforts and initiatives that encourage peaceful coexistence and openness to different civilizations and cultures in the world.
The delegation included MP Abbas Al-Madi, chairman of the Committee on Services in the Council of Representatives, MP Ahmed Qarata, member of the Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs in the Council of Representatives, Dr. Abdul Aziz Abul, deputy chairman of the Shura Council’s Finance and Economic Affairs Committee, MP Mohammed Al-Emadi, member of the Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs in the House of Representatives.
